Benchmarks Continued: 3DMark2001 16-bit

Obviously, the GeForce2 Ultra is no match for the GF3 because Game 4 is also included in computing the final 3DMark2001 score. Since the GeForce2 Ultra cannot run Game 4, it already gets a zero at that benchmark so it's really impossible for a GeForce2 Ultra to get near to a score of a GeForce3. For that reason, let's take a look at the individual results of the benchmarks.

The difference between the GeForce2 Ultra and GeForce3 is pretty noticeable. This benchmark is already at 1024X768X16 so we can expect the results to be more video card limited rather than CPU limited. So by looking at the scores alone, the GeForce3 is faster than the GeForce2 Ultra by a pretty good margin. I guess we now have an idea of how the cards will fare in the newer games.

While the GeForce3 is faster in the first few game benchmarks, it turns out to be slower than the Software T&L Assisted GeForce3 in Game 4. Why? I don't really know but these are the results. Of course, the GeForce2 Ultra lacks the necessary features to run Game 4.
