Benchmarks

As expected, the GeForce2 Ultra is faster in the Fastest setting of Quake III. Quake III Fastest runs at 16-bit and really toned down settings so the memory bandwidth isn't much stressed. The GeForce2 Ultra running at a higher core clock speed is able to get faster framerates. The situation changes when it's now at High Quality, 32-bit. The GeForce2 Ultra gets a bigger performance hit when raising the resolutions to the point where the GeForce3 leaves it behind by a good margin. The new memory architecture of the GeForce3 is able to show its good effects here, even if Quake III is already an old game.

Same as Quake III Higy Quality, the GeForce2 Ultra easily slows down while the GeForce3 barely gets a performance hit from 640X480 up to 1024X768. The GeForce2 Ultra alreadydips below 100fps in 1280X1024 while the GeForce3 still maintains a very good 119.6fps.
