Introduction

NVIDIA once again comes up with an industry-leading product and its the first in its class. NVIDIA's GeForce3 introduced a lot of new features and innovative technology thus making it the high end card to get. The GeForce3 makes use of many of the new features added in DirectX8 and has a new architecture compared to the older cards. Aside from the basic differences, NVIDIA finally made Anti-Aliasing a very viable option with the GeForce3 with the new High Resolution Anti-Aliasing technology available in the GeForce3. The GeForce3 also boasts of better visual quality over the previous video cards.

VisionTek is an OEM company that manufactures video cards. They now also have their own line of video cards primarily based on NVIDIA chips. Since VisionTek is an OEM company, they closely follow the reference design of NVIDIA video cards so you can't really expect anything fancy coming from VisionTek when it comes to their video cards.

The VisionTek GeForce3 comes in a black-purple bubbly box. Inside the package, you'll get the GeForce3 in an anti-static bag, a user's manual and installation guide and a driver CD. Aside from that, there's nothing else inside. It's really just a plain video card.

Since VisionTek closely follows NVIDIA's reference design and specifications, everything is very much standard. The VisionTek GeForce3 uses the standard NVIDIA heatsink and ramsinks. The card also has tv-out which could prove to be quite useful for those who don't just play games. Now, watching media files from your computer to a big screen is very easy. Since VisionTek just has a plain card, you can expect the prices of the video card to be quite cheaper than the rest. Performance-wise, there shouldn't be any difference when they are at default speeds.
