Benchmarks

I started off with 3DMark2000. Notice how the FSB influences the score. The 1.3Ghz at 145 mhz beats the 1.4ghz at 133mhz. I decided not to use 3DMark2001 since I'm using a fairly old Detonator and a non-GeForce3 GPU.

Well the results follow the trend established earlier. The 1.3 continues to whoop ass. The benchmarks on fastest should be cpu limited but I guess the added bus speed influences the score since the video card's bus is overclocked, thus giving you a faster T&L unit (just a bit faster).

The CPU benchmarks from Sandra are purely CPU dependent. FSB has no bearing. So, of course, the scores scale by CPU speed. How boring.

Memory benchmarks show the importance of FSB since it affects the memory speed as well.

Since I'm using a + board and not the vanilla, I had the Highpoint controller to play with. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough spare hard drives (I only had one) to allow for RAID. I just had to content myself with running the 686B and Highpoint controllers head to head. The scores are close.

Conclusion

Relax, Trudy owns j00.
